Profit Factor vs Win Rate: Which Metric Actually Predicts Trading Success?
Ask most traders what makes a good system and they will say something like "I win 70% of my trades." Win rate feels good. It is intuitive, easy to explain, and emotionally satisfying. But win rate alone tells you almost nothing about whether a strategy is profitable โ and chasing a high win rate is one of the most common mistakes developing traders make.
