A Trader Personality
The Revenge Trader

The Revenge Trader

Chases losses, trades emotionally.

A loss doesn't feel like a loss — it feels personal. So you go get it back, right now, bigger. The problem: research shows a loss hurts about twice as much as an equal gain feels good, and that pain is driving the mouse. This is the fastest-known way to turn a small red day into a blown account.

🧠 The behavioral bias

Loss aversion + "get-even-itis". The next trade has no memory of your last loss — but your amygdala does.

💪 Strengths
  • +Persistent — never gives up
  • +Highly motivated
  • +Cares deeply about results
⚠️ Watch out for
  • Revenge trading after losses
  • Emotional, impulsive decisions
  • Increases risk at the worst time

Frequently asked

What is the trader personality test?

A free 16-question self-assessment that estimates your trading archetype across 9 behavioral profiles used in the K.M.F. Trading Journal app — from the disciplined Sniper to the emotional Revenge Trader. It reveals your dominant behavioral bias and gives you three concrete fixes.

Do you store my answers or results?

No. Everything runs in your browser. Your answers and result are saved only in your own browser (localStorage) so a page refresh does not lose them — nothing is ever sent to, or stored on, a server. There is no signup and no data collection.

How accurate is it?

It is a self-report estimate of the same trader archetypes the K.M.F. app computes automatically from your real trades (discipline, emotions, hold-time patterns, disposition effect). It is an excellent mirror and starting point — your true, data-driven profile comes from your actual trade history in the app.
